Getting There

Walking
From Koules Fortress, exit the fortress through the main gate. Once you are outside, turn right and walk along the waterfront promenade. Continue walking along the promenade for about 500 meters, enjoying the view of the sea and the Venetian harbor. As you approach the end of the promenade, you will see Leof. Nearchou on your left. Turn onto Leof. Nearchou and walk approximately 100 meters. Old Anchor will be on your right.

While walking is the most direct route, for those who prefer public transport, you can take a local bus. From Koules Fortress, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Leof. Nearchou, which is about a 5-minute walk from the fortress. Look for buses heading towards the center of Heraklion. The fare is approximately 1.50 euros per person. Get off at the next stop after approximately 3-4 minutes, then walk back towards Leof. Nearchou for about 100 meters to reach Old Anchor.
