Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from any point in Essequibo Islands-West Demerara. Head towards Parika and take the ferry to cross the Essequibo River to reach the town of Bartica. From Bartica, take the road towards the town of Lethem, which will lead you to the Iwokrama Forest Reserve. The Canopy Walkway is located along the Lethem to Georgetown road, approximately 12 kilometers from the main road entrance to the Iwokrama Forest. Be prepared for a drive of about 5-6 hours depending on road conditions. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition to navigate the rougher sections of the road.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a bus or minibus from Parika to Bartica. Buses leave regularly, and the journey takes about 1-2 hours. Once in Bartica, look for a bus heading to Lethem. This trip may take approximately 4-5 hours. After reaching Lethem, you can take a taxi or hire a local guide to take you the remaining 12 kilometers to the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway. Taxi fares may vary, so agree on a price before starting your journey.
