Getting There

Walking
From the center of Vác, head south on Széchenyi utca towards the Danube River. Continue straight until you reach the riverbank. Turn left and follow the river path until you see the pedestrian bridge (Váci Híd) that connects Vác to the other side of the Danube. Cross the bridge and once you reach the other side, follow the signs for the train station (Budapest) and board a train heading to Budapest. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once in Budapest, disembark at the 'Batthyány tér' station. From there, exit the station and walk towards the Danube River. You will see the iconic Parliament building ahead. Continue walking along the river until you reach the Szent István Park and follow the signs towards the Buda Castle area. The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene is located at Kapisztrán tér 6, which is a short walk uphill from the park.

Public Transport
Start at the Vác train station and purchase a ticket to Budapest. Board a train heading to Budapest Nyugati (West) station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Nyugati station, exit the station and walk to the nearby tram stop. Take tram line 4 or 6 towards Széll Kálmán tér. Get off at the 'Móricz Zsigmond körtér' stop. From there, transfer to bus number 11 which will take you directly to the Buda Castle area. After getting off the bus, follow the signs for the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene located at Kapisztrán tér 6. It’s a short walk from the bus stop.
