Getting There

Walking
From the center of Vác, head south on Main Street (Fő utca) until you reach the Váci Cathedral. Continue walking straight until you reach the Danube River. Once you arrive at the riverbank, turn right and follow the river path towards Budapest. You'll eventually reach the Váci train station (Váci Pályaudvar), which is about a 20-minute walk from the cathedral. At the station, take a train to Budapest, which should take approximately 30 minutes.

After arriving at the Váci train station, buy a ticket to Budapest. Trains to Budapest run frequently, so check the schedule on the display boards. Once on the train, enjoy the scenic ride along the Danube. Disembark at the Nyugati Pályaudvar (Western Railway Station) in Budapest. From there, take the Metro Line 3 (the blue line) towards Kőbánya-Kispest and get off at Deák Ferenc tér. Transfer to Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Örs vezér tere and get off at Széll Kálmán tér. Finally, exit the station and walk towards Kapisztrán tér, where the City Hall is located.

Public Bus
From the center of Vác, walk to the nearest bus stop and take Bus 78 towards Budapest. This bus will take you directly to the outskirts of the city. Once you reach the final stop, transfer to Bus 8E, which will take you to the Buda Castle area. From there, it’s a short walk to Kapisztrán tér, where the City Hall is located.
