From the center of Egilsstaðir, head north on Aðalstræti (Route 1) and take a left onto Laufskógar street. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer, and you will find the museum on your left. Parking is available nearby.

For those using public transportation, take a bus to Egilsstaðir from major towns like Akureyri or Reykjavik. Once you arrive at the Egilsstaðir bus terminal, the East Iceland Heritage Museum is approximately a 15-minute walk away. Exit the terminal and head north on Aðalstræti (Route 1). After about 500 meters, turn left onto Laufskógar street and continue for another 500 meters to reach the museum. Be sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time for accurate departure and arrival times.

If you are already in the vicinity of Egilsstaðir and prefer walking, the museum is easily accessible. Starting at the Egilsstaðir town center, walk north along Aðalstræti (Route 1) for approximately 1 kilometer. Then, turn left onto Laufskógar street and walk another 500 meters to reach the museum.
