If you are driving from Akureyri, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After approximately 90 kilometers, turn right onto Route 85 towards Húsavík. Continue on Route 85 for about 40 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 1. Turn left to continue on Route 1 towards Egilsstaðir. After approximately 90 kilometers, keep an eye out for Fljótsdalsvegur (Route 701) on your right. Follow Fljótsdalsvegur for about 10 kilometers, and you will find the Hrafnkelsstaðir Information Sign on your left. Make sure to check for parking spaces nearby.
