Car
If you are driving in Vatnajökull National Park, follow the main road, Route 1 (the Ring Road), until you reach the town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. From there, take Klausturvegur road (Route 206). Continue on Klausturvegur for about 1.5 kilometers. The Vatnajökulsþjóðgarðs Visitor Centre is located at Klausturvegur 10, 880 Kirkjubæjarklaustur. There is ample parking available at the visitor center.

To reach the Vatnajökulsþjóðgarðs Visitor Centre using public transportation, you will need to take a bus to Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Check the schedules for the Strætó bus service, which operates routes from major towns such as Reykjavik and Höfn. Once you arrive at the Kirkjubæjarklaustur bus stop, the visitor centre is approximately a 20-minute walk (1.5 kilometers) from the stop. Head north on Klausturvegur, and you will find the visitor centre on your left.
