  • Walking

    The Main Quad is centrally located on the University of Illinois campus and easily accessible on foot from most campus locations. From the Champaign-Urbana Public Library, walk south on Vine Street, then turn right on Green Street. Turn left on Mathews Avenue. The Main Quad will be on your left.

  • Public Transport

    The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) provides bus service to the University of Illinois campus. Many bus routes stop near the Main Quad. All students, faculty, and staff can ride free by showing their university i-card. Use the MTD website or app to plan your route. SafeRides, an on-demand van service, is available at night. Check the MTD website for schedules and route information.

  • Driving

    Visitors can park at meters on university streets and drives, as well as in designated campus lots and parking garages. The Campus Center Public Parking Deck, located at 509 E. Healey Street, is within walking distance of the Main Quad. Parking rates are $1.50 per hour for the first 8 hours, $13.00 for 9-12 hours, and $15.00 for 13-24 hours. The deck is open 24/7. Metered parking is available near the University YMCA on Wright Street, close to the Quad. Be aware that parking on campus is limited, and restrictions are enforced.
