If you are in the central area of Città Alta, head towards Piazza Vecchia, which is a popular gathering spot. From Piazza Vecchia, walk up Via Colleoni, which will lead you directly to Piazza Duomo. The Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is located at the end of this square, right next to the stunning Palazzo della Ragione.

Alternatively, if you are near the Rocca di Bergamo, exit the fortress and take a left towards Via alla Rocca. Continue walking straight until you reach the main road, then turn right onto Via Colleoni. This will bring you to Piazza Duomo, where the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is located.

Public Transport (Funicular)
If you are arriving from the lower city (Bergamo), take the Funicolare San Vigilio from Viale Vittorio Emanuele. This funicular will take you up to the Città Alta. Once you arrive at the top, follow the signs towards Piazza Vecchia and then Via Colleoni to reach the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. The funicular costs around €1.30 one way.
