Getting There

Car
From the center of Hakone, head east on National Route 1 towards Odawara. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the interchange for the Chuo Expressway (中央自動車道). Take the Chuo Expressway heading towards Hachioji. After about 40 kilometers, take the Takao exit (高尾IC). Follow the signs for Takaomachi, which will lead you through local roads for about 10 kilometers to reach Meijinomori Takao National Park. Note that parking is available at the park, but fees may apply.

Public Transportation
Begin your journey at the Hakone Yumoto Station. Take the Odakyu Line towards Shinjuku. At Shinjuku Station, transfer to the JR Chuo Line towards Takao Station. The total travel time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once at Takao Station, exit the station and take bus number 2 towards Kiyotaki. Get off at the Meijinomori Takao National Park bus stop. The bus ride takes around 15 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedule beforehand as they may not run frequently.
