Car
From Hakone, take Route 1 (Hakone-Yumoto) and head towards Hachioji. Continue on Route 1 until you reach the junction with Route 16. Take Route 16 towards Hachioji, and follow the signs for Takao. The Takao Visitor Center is located at 2176 Takaomachi, Hachioji, Tokyo 193-0844. There is parking available at the visitor center, but please note that parking fees may apply, usually around 500 yen for a few hours. The drive will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic.

Public Transportation
To reach the Takao Visitor Center using public transportation, start by taking the Hakone Tozan Railway from Hakone-Yumoto Station to Odawara Station. At Odawara Station, transfer to the JR Tokaido Line and head towards Hachioji Station. Upon arrival at Hachioji Station, take the Keio Line to Takao Station. From Takao Station, it's about a 20-minute walk to the Takao Visitor Center. Follow the signs towards Takaomachi, and you will find the visitor center located at 2176 Takaomachi, Hachioji, Tokyo 193-0844. Total travel time is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, and the train fare will be around 1,500 yen, depending on the specific routes taken.
