Car
If you're traveling by car, start from downtown Hitachi and head towards Route 6 (Nihonbashi Street). Follow the signs for Route 6 heading north. After approximately 10 minutes, take the exit for Omikacho. Continue on Omikacho Street and follow the signs for Hitachi Lighthouse. The lighthouse is located at 4 Chome-17 Omikacho, and you will find parking available nearby. Please note that parking may incur a fee, so keep some change or a credit card handy.
Public Transportation - Train
For those using public transportation, take the JR Joban Line from Hitachi Station. Board a train heading towards Toride or Ueno. After about a 10-minute ride, get off at the Katsuta Station. From Katsuta Station, transfer to the Ibaraki Kotsu Bus (Katsuta Line) heading towards Omitama. Get off at the Omikacho stop, which is approximately a 15-minute bus ride. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the Hitachi Lighthouse at 4 Chome-17 Omikacho.
Public Transportation - Bus
Another option is to take the Ibaraki Kotsu Bus directly from Hitachi Station. Look for the bus heading to Omitama or Omikacho. The bus journey will take about 20 minutes. Disembark at the Omikacho stop. The Hitachi Lighthouse is a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. Ensure you have some yen ready for the bus fare, which is typically around 200-300 yen.
