The Yoshida Tadashi Memorial Museum of Music celebrates the life and legacy of Tadashi Yoshida (1921-1998), a renowned Japanese composer born in Hitachi. Yoshida's music career began after he returned to Japan, following his time in Siberia as a WWII internee. He became an exclusive composer for Victor Records and composed over 2400 pieces. His work includes popular songs that encouraged Japanese citizens during the post-war recovery. The museum, which opened to the public on April 29th, features exhibits detailing Yoshida's life and musical journey. Visitors can explore his studio, complete with a piano and writing desk, and view displays of record jackets and photographs. A highlight is the composition classroom where visitors can try their hand at composing music using a computer. On the first floor, a studio shows 15 pieces of Yoshida's music accompanied by pictures. The second floor showcases Yoshida's life, highlighting his rise to fame in the post-war music industry. The fifth floor houses an observation cafe where visitors can enjoy views of Hitachi City. Visitors can also listen to music using a music table. A mobile music player is available for rent, offering access to 214 pieces from his hit album.
