If you are driving, start from Hitachi City center and head south on National Route 6 (E6). Continue for about 60 kilometers until you reach Tokyo. Take the exit toward Kōenji from the Shuto Expressway (Route 5) and merge onto Route 5. Follow the signs for Bunkyo City. Once in Bunkyo, navigate to 1 Chome-2-10 Yayoi. Nezu Shrine Azalea Garden will be on your right. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that some areas may require a parking fee.

To reach Nezu Shrine Azalea Garden from Hitachi using public transport, first, head to Hitachi Station. Take the JR Joban Line (Local) toward Ueno Station. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once at Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line and take the train heading to Yoyogi Uehara. Get off at Nezu Station (approximately 5 stops). From Nezu Station, exit the station and walk approximately 10 minutes to 1 Chome-2-10 Yayoi where the garden is located. Be sure to check the train schedules for exact times and costs, which will be around 1500 yen for the entire trip.

For those preferring to travel by bus, start at Hitachi Station and look for buses heading towards Tokyo. You may need to transfer at a major bus terminal, such as the one in Mito, before continuing to Bunkyo City. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop, you will need to walk for about 15 minutes to reach the Nezu Shrine Azalea Garden located at 1 Chome-2-10 Yayoi. Be mindful of the bus schedules and potential fares, which will generally be more economical than train travel.
