Asahi Falls, a 105-meter waterfall in Izu, Shizuoka, is named for the way it glistens in the morning sun. Public Transport
From Mishima Station, take the Izu Hakone Railway Sunzu Line to Shuzenji Station (approx. 35 minutes). From Shuzenji Station, transfer to the Tokai Bus bound for Yugashima and get off at Asahidakiguchi (approx. 10 minutes). From the Asahidakiguchi bus stop, it's a short 5-minute walk to Asahi Falls. The train from Mishima to Shuzenji costs ¥550. The bus fare is approximately ¥400.
Taxi
From Shuzenji Onsen, a taxi ride to Asahi Falls takes approximately 5 minutes. The estimated taxi fare is between ¥1,500 and ¥2,000.
Car
From the Tomei Expressway Numazu IC or Shin Tomei Nagaizumi Numazu IC, take the Izu Jukan Expressway, Izuchuo Expressway, Shuzenji Road, and Amagi Kita Road to Odaira IC. From Odaira IC, follow National Route 136 (approx. 35 minutes). There are four parking lots available near the falls, with free parking. Note that parking may be limited.
