Getting There

    From Izumi, start by heading west on Route 3. Continue straight for about 70 kilometers until you reach Amakusa. Once you arrive in Amakusa, follow the signs towards Ushibukamachi. From there, take the local road to the ferry terminal, where you can park your car if necessary. The ferry to Gezu Island departs from this terminal. Ensure you check the ferry schedule in advance, as there may be limited departures throughout the day. The ferry ride takes approximately 30 minutes and costs around 1,500 yen per person.

    To reach Gezu Island using public transportation, start your journey at Izumi Station. Take a train on the JR Hohi Line towards Kumamoto and get off at Matsubase Station. From Matsubase Station, transfer to a local bus heading to Amakusa. Once you arrive in Amakusa, follow the signs to the ferry terminal for Ushibukamachi.
