Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from your location in Kai, head northeast on Route 20 (Kōfu Bypass) towards Kōfu. Follow the signs for Chuo Expressway (中央自動車道) and merge onto it. Continue on Chuo Expressway for approximately 70 km. Take the exit towards Shinjuku (新宿) and merge onto the Metropolitan Expressway (首都高速道路). Follow the signs to Ueno Park. Once you arrive at Ueno Park, you can find parking facilities nearby. The International Library of Children's Literature is located within Ueno Park at 12-49 Uenokoen, Taito City, Tokyo. After parking, walk towards the library, which is a short distance within the park.

• Train

  To reach the International Library of Children's Literature using public transportation, start by heading to Kōfu Station. Take the JR Chuo Line train towards Tokyo Station. The journey will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Tokyo Station, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and travel to Ueno Station. Once at Ueno Station, exit the station and walk towards Ueno Park, where the library is located. The library is situated at 12-49 Uenokoen, Taito City, Tokyo, and is a short walk from the park entrance.

• Bus

  If you prefer to take a bus, start by finding the nearest bus stop in Kai. Take a highway bus to Shinjuku Station. From Shinjuku Station, switch to the JR Yamanote Line and head to Ueno Station. After arriving at Ueno Station, exit and head to Ueno Park. The International Library of Children's Literature is located at 12-49 Uenokoen, Taito City, Tokyo, within Ueno Park. The bus fare will vary based on your starting point to Shinjuku.
