Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the center of Hitachi, take Route 6 towards Mito for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the junction with Route 50. Merge onto Route 50 and continue for about 1 hour, following signs towards Tokyo. Once you reach Ueno, look for signs to Uenosakuragi. Jomyoin is located at 2 Chome-6-4 Uenosakuragi, Taito City, Tokyo. Parking may be available nearby, but check local parking regulations and fees.

  • Train

    To reach Jomyoin using public transportation, start at Hitachi Station. Take the JR Joban Line towards Ueno. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and may require a transfer at Mito Station. After reaching Ueno Station, exit the station and head towards the Tokyo Metro Ueno Station. From Ueno Station, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Jomyoin. Head east on Ueno Park's main walkway, then turn onto Uenosakuragi Street, where you will find Jomyoin at 2 Chome-6-4 Uenosakuragi.

  • Bus

    You can also take a highway bus from Hitachi to Tokyo. Board a bus at Hitachi Bus Terminal heading to Tokyo Station. The ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at Tokyo Station, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and travel to Ueno Station. From Ueno Station, it’s a 15-minute walk to Jomyoin following the same route as previously described.
