If you are driving to the Bamboo Walkway from the central area of Kyoto, start by getting onto the R1 (Kyoto Ring Road) or the R162. Follow the signs for Arashiyama. Once you reach the Arashiyama area, look for parking signs indicating available lots. There are several parking lots near the Bamboo Walkway, but they can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. Expect to pay around 500 to 1000 yen for parking.

Public Transportation (Train)
To reach the Bamboo Walkway using public transportation, take the JR San-in Line from Kyoto Station to Saga-Arashiyama Station. The journey takes about 15 minutes and costs around 240 yen. Upon arrival at Saga-Arashiyama Station, exit the station and walk towards the Togetsukyo Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the Bamboo Walkway. Signs will direct you along the way.

From Kyoto Station, you can also take the Kyoto City Bus No. 28 or 11 directly to Arashiyama. The bus ride takes approximately 40 minutes and costs about 230 yen. Once you disembark at Arashiyama, follow the signs towards the Bamboo Grove. The walk from the bus stop to the Bamboo Walkway is about 10 minutes.

Once you arrive in the Arashiyama area, whether by car, bus, or train, the Bamboo Walkway is a short walk from the main tourist areas. After crossing Togetsukyo Bridge, continue straight, and you will find the entrance to the Bamboo Walkway on your left. The path is well-marked and easy to follow.
