Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from central Kyoto, take the Keihan Road (Route 1) towards Uji. Follow the signs to Uji, and once you reach Uji, look for the signs directing you to Manpuku-ji. The temple is located at Gokasho, Sanbanwari−34, Uji, Kyoto 611-0011. There is parking available near the temple. Please note that parking fees may apply.

  • Train

    To reach Manpuku-ji via public transportation, take the Keihan Uji Line from Kyoto Station to Uji Station. The train ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Uji Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal. Take the local bus (Uji City Bus) bound for Gokasho (ごかしょう) and get off at the Gokasho stop. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to Manpuku-ji. The total fare for the train and bus is approximately ¥500.

  • Bicycle

    For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Uji. From Uji Station, follow the bike lanes along the river and head towards Gokasho. The ride is scenic and takes around 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Gokasho, follow the signs to Manpuku-ji. Make sure to return your rental bike at the designated location in Uji.
