Car
If you're driving, head towards Uji City from central Kyoto. Take the R24 road heading towards Uji. Once in Uji, look for signs directing you to Gokasho. After entering Gokasho, turn right onto Sanbanwari Street. Continue straight for about 1 km, and you'll see Hōzen-in Temple on your left at Sanbanwari-34-3.

Public Transportation
To reach Hōzen-in Temple by public transportation, take the JR Nara Line from Kyoto Station towards Nara. Get off at Uji Station. From Uji Station, you can catch the local bus bound for Gokasho (Bus Number 21 or 22). After about 10 minutes, get off at the Gokasho stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk; head southeast on Sanbanwari Street, and you'll find Hōzen-in Temple at Sanbanwari-34-3 on your left.
