If you are driving, head towards Uji City from your location in the Kyoto countryside. Follow the signs for Route 1, which will lead you south towards Uji. Once in Uji, look for the signs indicating Higashiuchi. Turn onto Higashiuchi Road and navigate to Higashiuchi-1 Uji, where Tsuen Main Branch is located. There is parking available nearby, but it may incur a small fee, typically around 300-500 yen per hour.

For those using public transportation, take the JR Nara Line from Kyoto Station towards Nara. Get off at Uji Station. From Uji Station, you can either take a bus (Uji City Bus) or walk to Tsuen Main Branch. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes, and you should get off at the Higashiuchi stop, which is a short walk from the tea house. If you choose to walk, it will take approximately 20-25 minutes. The fare for the train is around 240 yen, and the bus fare is approximately 210 yen.

If you are already in Uji, local buses will also take you to Tsuen Main Branch. You can catch the Uji City Bus from various points in the city, such as Uji Station or nearby hotels. Look for a bus heading towards Higashiuchi and get off at the Higashiuchi stop. The bus journey will take around 10 minutes. The fare is typically around 210 yen.
