If you're traveling by car, start by making your way to Uji city from your location in the Kyoto countryside. Use the following directions: Navigate to the Keiji Highway (Kyoto City). From there, take the exit for Uji. Follow the signs for Uji City center and continue straight. Once you reach the city center, look for signs indicating Myoraku area. The matcha roastery is located at Myoraku-146 Uji, which is about a 10-minute drive from the center of Uji. There is parking available nearby, but it may incur a fee, so be prepared with some cash. Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the JR Nara Line from Kyoto Station and head towards Nara. Get off at Uji Station. From Uji Station, exit and walk towards the main road. You can catch a local bus bound for Myoraku, or if you prefer to walk, it's approximately 30 minutes on foot. Follow the road signs towards Myoraku-146. It's a pleasant walk through the countryside, and you'll be able to enjoy the scenery along the way. Be aware that the bus may cost around 200 yen, and you should check the bus schedule in advance as they can be infrequent.
