Getting There

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line towards Kokusaikaikan and get off at Shijo Station (about 5 minutes). At Shijo Station, exit through Exit 1. Once you are outside, walk straight along Shijo-dori Street for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Karasuma-dori. Turn left onto Karasuma-dori and walk for about 5 minutes until you reach the entrance of Shinkaicho. Bukkō-ji Temple is located at 397 Shinkaicho, just a short walk down the street.

    If you are near Nijo Castle, head south to Nijo-dori, then turn left and walk east until you reach the intersection with Karasuma-dori. Turn left onto Karasuma-dori and continue until you reach Shinkaicho. Bukkō-ji Temple is at 397 Shinkaicho, just a few minutes walk from the intersection.
