    Start your journey at Kyoto Station. Take the Karasuma Line (subway) from Kyoto Station towards Kokusaikaikan Station. Get off at Shijo Station (approximately 5 stops, 10 minutes). From Shijo Station, take Exit 1. Once outside, walk straight along Shijo Street until you reach the intersection with Karasuma Street. Turn left and walk north on Karasuma Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the Takoyakushi Street. Turn right onto Takoyakushi Street and continue walking for another 5 minutes. Eifuku-ji Temple (Takoyakushi-dō) will be on your right at Shin Takoyakushi Higashigawa-cho 503.

    From Kyoto Station, take Bus number 205 or 17. Get off at the Karasuma Takoyakushi bus stop (approximately 15 minutes). After getting off the bus, walk east for about 3 minutes along Takoyakushi Street. Eifuku-ji Temple (Takoyakushi-dō) will be located on your left at Shin Takoyakushi Higashigawa-cho 503.

  • Walking

    If you are staying in the central area of Kyoto, such as around the Nishiki Market or Gion, you can walk to Eifuku-ji Temple (Takoyakushi-dō). From Nishiki Market, head west to Karasuma Street, and then walk north along Karasuma Street until you reach Takoyakushi Street. Turn right onto Takoyakushi Street and continue for about 10 minutes. The temple will be on your right at Shin Takoyakushi Higashigawa-cho 503.
