Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from central Nikko, head east on Route 119. Continue straight for about 20 km, following signs for Otawara. After entering Otawara, turn right onto Route 4. Continue for about 5 km until you reach 1 Chome-4-1 Honcho. The park will be on your left. Parking may be available nearby, but check local signage for restrictions.

  • Train

    Take the JR Nikko Line from Nikko Station towards Utsunomiya. Ride for approximately 30 minutes and get off at Otawara Station. From Otawara Station, exit onto the main road and take Bus No. 3 or No. 4 towards Honcho. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes and costs approximately 200 JPY. Get off at the Honcho bus stop and walk a short distance to Uguisudani Park located at 1 Chome-4-1 Honcho.

  • Bus

    If you prefer taking a bus from Nikko, first travel to Utsunomiya by train, which costs around 1,500 JPY and takes about 45 minutes. From Utsunomiya, transfer to a bus that services Otawara and ask the driver for the Uguisudani Park stop. The bus fare is approximately 600 JPY and the journey takes about 30 minutes.
