Getting There

    From Omi, head northeast on Route 152. Continue straight for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 20. Turn right onto Route 20 and follow the signs toward Suwa. After about 15 kilometers, take the exit toward Shiga and continue on Shiga Road. Follow the signs for Kurumayama for about 5 kilometers. There is a parking area available near the peak, but be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around 500 yen.

  • Public Transportation

    Start at Omi Station. Take the JR Chuo Line to Suwa Station, which takes about 30 minutes. From Suwa Station, board the Alpico Kotsu bus bound for Kurumayama Kogen. The bus ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as the frequency may vary, and be prepared to pay around 1,200 yen for the bus fare. Once you arrive at Kurumayama Kogen, you will have access to trails leading up to the mountain peak.
