Car
If you are driving, head to the Suwa District in Nagano Prefecture. From Iki, take the ferry to Hakata and then drive north via the Kyushu Expressway (E3) and then the Chuo Expressway (E20) heading towards Suwa. Follow the signs to Shimosuwa, and once you reach the town, navigate to 5828 Shimosuwa, Nagano 393-0052. There is parking available near the shrine.
Public Transportation
To reach Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya using public transportation, take the ferry from Iki to Hakata. From Hakata, take a train to Nagoya (Shinkansen is recommended for speed). From Nagoya, transfer to the Chuo Line and travel to Shimosuwa Station. Once at Shimosuwa Station, you can take a taxi (approximately 10 minutes) to the shrine at 5828 Shimosuwa, Nagano 393-0052. Taxi fares can vary but expect to pay around 1,500 to 2,000 JPY.
