Getting There

    From Kagoshima Airport, take the expressway or non-toll roads towards Minamiosumi. Follow Route 10, then Route 220 along the coast, and finally Route 68 and 566 to the Cape Sata parking lot. Parking is free. From the parking lot, walk approximately 800 meters along the paved promenade to the observation deck.

  • Public Transport

    From Kagoshima City, take a bus to Sata Town. Be aware that buses are infrequent, so plan accordingly. From Sata Town, take a short taxi ride or walk to the park entrance. From the park entrance, it is an 800-meter walk to the observation deck. Bus fares vary depending on the distance traveled.

  • Ferry and Car

    From Kagoshima City, take a car ferry from Kagoshima Port to Sakurajima Port (approximately 15 minutes). Drive from Sakurajima Port to Cape Sata (approximately 1 hour 50 minutes). Follow the road to the Cape Sata parking lot and walk 800m to the observation deck. The car ferry costs approximately ¥1,376–2,109.
