Public Transport
From Kagoshima-Chuo Station, take the Kagoshima City View bus and alight at the 'Saigodozou-mae' stop. The museum is a 1-minute walk from there. Alternatively, take the city tram to 'Asahi-dori' or the city bus to 'Kinsei-cho', both about a 5-minute walk to the museum. A single tram or bus fare is approximately ¥160-230. A one-day pass for unlimited travel on the City View bus and tram costs ¥600.

From the Saigo Takamori statue, walk approximately 5 minutes north along the main road. The museum will be on your left. The walk is relatively flat and straightforward.

A taxi from Kagoshima-Chuo Station to the museum takes about 10 minutes and costs approximately ¥1,500-¥2,000, depending on traffic.

Driving
From National Highway 10 towards Miyazaki, pass the Saigo Takamori statue and turn left at the traffic light with the sign for the Kagoshima City Museum of Art. Limited parking is available at the museum. If the museum parking is full, alternative parking is available at Kagoshima City Hall Minato-dori Annex. Parking fees vary, but expect to pay around ¥100 per 30 minutes.
