Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Kagoshima-Chuo Station, take the Kagoshima City View bus and alight at the 'Saigodozou-mae' stop. The museum is a 1-minute walk from there. Alternatively, take the city tram to 'Asahi-dori' or the city bus to 'Kinsei-cho', both about a 5-minute walk to the museum. A single tram or bus fare is approximately ¥160-230. A one-day pass for unlimited travel on the City View bus and tram costs ¥600.

    From the Saigo Takamori statue, walk approximately 5 minutes north along the main road. The museum will be on your left. The walk is relatively flat and straightforward.
