If you're traveling by car from Satsuma, head northeast on Route 3 towards Kagoshima City. After approximately 40 kilometers, follow signs for Route 10 towards Kagoshima. Note that there is parking available nearby, but expect to pay a fee of around 300-500 yen per hour.
