Getting There

  • Public Transport

    The most convenient way to reach Oirase-keiryū Gorge is by JR bus from Aomori Station, Shin-Aomori Station, or Hachinohe Station. From Aomori Station, the bus journey to Oirase Stream Museum (Oirase Keiryū-kan) takes approximately 2 hours and costs ¥2,650. From Hachinohe Station, the bus ride takes about 50 minutes and costs ¥2,270. Ensure you get off at your desired stop along the gorge. The JR East Pass and Japan Rail Pass are valid on JR Bus Tohoku.

  • Driving

    If driving from Aomori City, take National Highway 103, which follows the Oirase Stream. Note that during peak seasons, private vehicle traffic restrictions may be in place. During these times, park at the Oirase Keiryu Onsen Ski Resort (free) or Yasumiya parking lot (¥500 for cars) and use the shuttle bus. A discounted shuttle bus ticket costs ¥1,000 when parking at Yasumiya. Be aware that parking along the road is discouraged to prevent congestion.
