The Moleturm (Mole Tower) stands as a striking landmark at the entrance to Friedrichshafen's harbor on Lake Constance. Inaugurated in September 2000, the tower was built during the renovation of the harbor. Its design, while modern, is intended to complement the Bauhaus architecture of the nearby Zeppelin Museum.
Rising 22.25 meters (approximately 73 feet) high, the Moleturm provides visitors with sweeping views of Friedrichshafen, the surrounding orchards, and the Swiss Alps across Lake Constance. The tower features two observation platforms accessible via 117 steel steps; there is no elevator. The uppermost platform is partially sheltered, and the tower's railings are adorned with love locks. A panoramic display on the top level helps visitors identify the Alpine peaks.
