Follow the road for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with Main Street in Southwest Harbor. Turn left onto Main Street and continue until you reach the end. Take a right onto the road that leads to the Ship Harbor Trailhead. It will be a short walk from there, approximately 0.5 miles on the gravel path to the trailhead.

    From the Acadia National Park carriage roads, head towards the road that leads to Southwest Harbor. Follow the carriage roads to the intersection that leads to Route 102. Take Route 102 south towards Southwest Harbor. Once you reach the town, look for Main Street and turn left. Continue until you reach the Ship Harbor Trailhead, which is well-marked and approximately 2 miles from Main Street.

    You can take the Island Explorer Bus, which offers free transportation around Acadia National Park and the surrounding communities.
