Metro
From downtown Bethesda, walk to the Bethesda Metro Station located at 7400 Wisconsin Ave. (about a 10-minute walk). Take the Red Line metro train towards Glenmont. Ride for 8 stops and get off at the National Archives station. After exiting the station, walk east on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, then turn left onto 7th Street NW. Continue walking until you reach Constitution Avenue NW, then turn left. The National Archives Museum will be on your right at 701 Constitution Ave. NW.

From the Bethesda Transit Center, take the Metrobus route 29 or 46 towards Washington, DC. Ride for approximately 30 minutes and get off at the stop for 7th St NW & Constitution Ave NW. After you get off, walk east on Constitution Avenue NW for about 5 minutes, and you will see the National Archives Museum on your left at 701 Constitution Ave. NW.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, start at the center of Bethesda and head southeast on Wisconsin Ave. Continue on Wisconsin Ave until you reach the intersection with East-West Highway (MD 410). Turn right onto East-West Highway and walk until you reach the Metro station. From there, you can follow the Metro directions above or continue walking south down 7th Street NW directly to the National Archives Museum, which is about 5 miles away. This walk will take you approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
