Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the center of Provincetown, at the intersection of Commercial Street and Lopes Square. Head east on Commercial Street toward the waterfront. Continue walking along Commercial Street for about half a mile until you reach the end of the street, where it intersects with Bradford Street. Turn left onto Bradford Street and follow it as it turns into Route 6. Keep walking on Route 6, which will lead you toward the Cape Cod National Seashore. After about 1.5 miles, you will reach the area where the Long Point Light Station is located. Look for signs indicating the path to the lighthouse, which is situated on Long Point. The walk may take approximately 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your pace.

• Biking

  If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Provincetown. Start at the bike rental location and ride east toward Commercial Street. Follow the same route as described above: head toward the waterfront on Commercial Street, then turn left onto Bradford Street as it merges into Route 6. Biking will allow you to reach the Long Point Light Station in about 20-30 minutes, depending on your speed. The bike path is generally safe, but be mindful of traffic, especially along Route 6.

• Boat

  For a unique experience, consider taking a boat tour that includes a stop at Long Point Light Station. You can book a tour from one of the local operators in Provincetown. The boat will take you along the coastline, providing scenic views of the area. Once you arrive at Long Point, you can disembark and explore the lighthouse area. This option is not only a quicker way to reach the light station but also offers an unforgettable perspective of the Cape Cod coastline.
