From Tulum, rent a bicycle at one of the local shops in town. Head north on Avenida Tulum until you reach the intersection with Avenida Coba. Turn left onto Avenida Coba and continue straight. Follow the road until you reach the junction with the highway (Carretera Tulum-Cancún). Turn right onto the highway and keep cycling for approximately 10 kilometers. After about 10 minutes, you will see signs for Chunyaxché on your left. Follow the signs to the lake.

From the center of Tulum, walk to the main collective taxi station located near the ADO bus terminal. Take a collective taxi heading towards Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Ensure to inform the driver that you want to be dropped off at Chunyaxché. The journey will take about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive, you may need to walk a short distance to the lake area.

If you are adventurous and like to walk, you can start from Tulum by heading north on Avenida Tulum. Continue walking straight until you reach the highway (Carretera Tulum-Cancún). Be cautious as you walk along the road, as it can be busy. Once you reach the highway, you can follow the same route as cyclists, looking for the signs to Chunyaxché. It’s a long walk, approximately 10 kilometers, so make sure to bring water and wear comfortable shoes.

Take the ADO bus from the main bus terminal in Tulum. Board a bus heading towards Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Chunyaxché. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you get off, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the lake.
