Getting There

• Bicycle

  From the center of Tulum, you can rent a bicycle at one of the many shops along Avenida Tulum. Once you have your bike, head north on Avenida Tulum until you reach the intersection with Calle Centauro Sur. Turn left onto Calle Centauro Sur and continue until you reach the main highway, Carretera Federal 307. Carefully cross the highway and follow the signs leading to Coba. This route will take you through scenic roads and local villages. Continue cycling until you reach the village of Nuevo Durango. From there, follow the signs to Xunáan Kab Mayan Village, which is located just off the main road. The total distance is approximately 47 kilometers, so be prepared for a long ride!

• Collective Taxi (Colectivo)

  To get to Xunáan Kab Mayan Village from Tulum, head to the colectivo station located on Avenida Tulum, just a short walk from the main town square. Look for the colectivos heading to Coba. The fare is usually around 50 pesos, and the ride takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Coba, you will need to take a local taxi or walk to Xunáan Kab Mayan Village, which is approximately 10 kilometers from the town center. If you choose to walk, follow the signs toward Nuevo Durango. Be sure to ask for directions if needed, as the village is located off the main road.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and are already in Coba, you can walk to Xunáan Kab Mayan Village. Start at the central square of Coba and head north on Calle 12 until you reach the main highway, Carretera Federal 307. Carefully cross the highway and follow the road signs directing you to Nuevo Durango. Continue walking along the road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach Xunáan Kab Mayan Village. This walk is ideal for those who want to experience the local scenery and rural environment.
