    To reach James Island County Park from downtown Charleston, take the CARTA bus number 40 (the James Island route) from the downtown bus terminal located at 181 W Meeting St. Board the bus heading towards James Island. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Riverland Dr @ Fort Johnson Rd.' After getting off, walk south on Riverland Drive for about 10 minutes. The park entrance will be on your right at 871 Riverland Dr.

    If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local shop in downtown Charleston. Head southeast on E Bay St toward Meeting St, then turn right onto Meeting St, which becomes Folly Rd. Continue along Folly Rd for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with Riverland Dr. Turn left onto Riverland Dr and bike for about 1 mile. James Island County Park will be on your left at 871 Riverland Dr.
