    From the center of Mount Pleasant, head to the nearest bus stop and take the MTC (Mount Pleasant Transit) bus heading towards Charleston. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop for Charleston. Once you arrive in Charleston, transfer to the CARTA (Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority) bus line that goes towards West Ashley. Look for the bus route that includes the stop at Ashley River Rd. After getting off at the Ashley River Rd stop, walk approximately 10 minutes south along Ashley River Rd to reach Middleton Place.

  • Bicycle

    If you're comfortable riding a bike, you can rent one from a local rental shop in Mount Pleasant. Start by heading towards the Ravenel Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, continue straight until you reach the fork at Broad St. Take a left onto Broad St and continue until you reach Ashley River Rd. Turn right on Ashley River Rd and bike for about 3 miles until you reach Middleton Place. The route is scenic and mostly flat, perfect for leisurely biking.

Walk south towards the waterfront park, then follow the path along the river until you reach the intersection with Coleman Blvd. Cross over to the other side and continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Highway 17. Carefully cross over to the other side of Highway 17 and continue south along Ashley River Rd until you reach Middleton Place. This walk is approximately 4 miles and will take about 1.5 hours.
