Look for W Sleeping Bear Drive on your right, and turn onto this road. Follow W Sleeping Bear Drive for about 1 mile until you reach the Sleeping Bear Point Trailhead parking area on your right. There are no fees to park at this trailhead.

Public transportation options are limited in the Sleeping Bear Dunes area, but you can use the local bus service, the Leelanau Transit, which connects to various points around the region. If you are coming from Traverse City, take the bus towards Glen Arbor. Once you arrive in Glen Arbor, you will need to walk approximately 2 miles south on M-22 to reach the intersection with W Sleeping Bear Drive. From there, follow W Sleeping Bear Drive for about 1 mile to the Sleeping Bear Point Trailhead. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the latest departure and arrival times.
