Discover more about Larvotto Beach

Larvotto Beach, also known as Plage du Larvotto, is the easternmost ward in Monaco and a part of Monte Carlo, offering a blend of relaxation and Monegasque glamour. This beach is not a natural formation but was created through extensions into the sea, a project initiated by Prince Rainier III in the 1960s. The beach features twin coves with pebbled shores stretching over 1300 feet along Avenue Princesse Grace. In 2021, the area was renovated by Italian architect Renzo Piano, known for the Pompidou Centre in Paris. Today, Larvotto Beach is Monaco's only public beach and a vibrant hub with many amenities. A key feature is the jellyfish-protective nets that ensure safe swimming. The beach is bordered by a two-level promenade filled with shops, eateries, and ice cream parlors. Visitors can find various restaurants, from casual beach bars to upscale dining establishments. Larvotto Beach is also committed to accessibility, offering a Handiplage area for individuals with reduced mobility. This includes ramps, accessible changing rooms, and trained staff to assist visitors. The area is well-served by public transportation, with bus lines connecting it to other parts of Monaco.
