From the center of Nagarkot, start by heading south on the main road that leads out of town. Walk approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the road leading to Bhaktapur. Continue straight, following signs for Budhanilkantha. After about 4 kilometers, you will reach the entrance to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. The entrance is located near Muhan Pokhari, which is marked by a sign. The exact coordinate for the park HQ is Q9RC+J8P, Budhanilkantha.

Hiking
For a more scenic route, you can hike from Nagarkot to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. Begin your hike by taking the trail that leads east from Nagarkot, which will take you through lush forests and beautiful landscapes. This trail connects with the main trail leading to Budhanilkantha. After approximately 5 kilometers of hiking, you will reach the park entrance. This route may take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace.

Public Transport
While you cannot reach the park HQ directly by public transport from Nagarkot, you can take a local bus or microbus heading towards Bhaktapur from Nagarkot. Get off at the Budhanilkantha stop. From there, it is about a 15-minute walk to the park entrance at Q9RC+J8P, Muhan Pokhari. Look for signs directing you to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park as you walk.
