Bus
From Thamel, walk to the nearest bus stop at Sundhara. Look for a bus heading towards Budhanilkantha. The fare is around NPR 30. Inform the conductor that you are going to Budhanilkantha. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Budhanilkantha stop. From there, you can ask locals for directions to Shivapuri National Park entrance.

Once you arrive at Budhanilkantha, head northeast toward Shivapuri National Park. The entrance is about a 30-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the road that leads towards the park entrance, passing by local houses and shops. You may also see signs directing you to the park.

After entering Shivapuri National Park, you can choose from various trekking routes. The most popular route is the one leading to the Nagi Gompa monastery. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks, as the trek can take a few hours depending on your pace.
