    Getting There

    Walking

    From the city center of Maastricht, head north towards the Vrijthof square. Once you reach the square, take the exit towards the Sint Servaasbridge (Sint Servaasbrug) that crosses the Meuse River. Cross the bridge and continue straight ahead onto the Tongersestraat. Follow this road which will lead you out of Maastricht. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will reach the border with Germany. Continue straight for another 1.5 kilometers until you reach the border town of Aachen. Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz is located in the center of Aachen. Look for the large square that is often filled with locals and visitors alike.

    Public Transport

    From the Maastricht train station (Maastricht Centraal), take a train towards Aachen. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Aachen's main train station (Aachen Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head towards the main square, which is just a short walk away. As you walk, you will pass the Elisenbrunnen (a historical fountain). Continue straight until you reach the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz, which is a prominent square in Aachen.
