Getting There

• Bus

  Start by taking a bus from the central Christchurch area. You can catch the number 100 bus from the bus stop on Manchester Street, which is close to the city center. Make sure to check the bus schedules, as they can vary. Ride the bus to the stop at Sumner Village. This will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Sumner Village, you will want to get off the bus and head towards the coast. From the bus stop, walk towards the beach, and then follow the coastal path leading to Godley Head Farm Park. This walk is about 45 minutes and offers beautiful views of the coastline.

  If you prefer to walk directly from a central point like Cathedral Square, head south on Colombo Street until you reach the intersection with Moorhouse Avenue. Turn left onto Moorhouse Avenue and continue straight until you reach the bus interchange at the end. From there, you can catch the number 100 bus to Sumner Village as mentioned above. After reaching Sumner Village, proceed to the coast and follow the coastal path to Godley Head Farm Park. This entire journey on foot will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike in central Christchurch. Start from Cathedral Square and head south on Manchester Street, then turn onto Moorhouse Avenue, cycling until you reach the Sumner area. Continue along the coastal road, which leads to Godley Head Farm Park. The ride can take about 1 hour and is approximately 15 kilometers. The path is scenic, but be cautious of traffic in some areas.
