Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From the city center, take the bus number 28 from the Bus Interchange on Lichfield Street. The bus will take you towards Lyttelton via Ferrymead. You will want to get off at the 'Bridle Path Rd near Bowers Ave' stop. From there, walk along Bridle Path Road for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the entrance to the Bridle Path Walk.

    If you are located in central Christchurch, you can walk to Bridle Path Walk. Start at Cathedral Square and head south on Colombo Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Lichfield Street, where you will turn left. Follow Lichfield Street until you reach the Bus Interchange, then continue south along Manchester Street. This route will ultimately lead you towards the Port Hills area. You can also follow the pedestrian pathways towards the Heathcote Valley. The walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.
