Start at the Christchurch Central Bus Exchange located at 37 Lichfield Street. Take the number 28 bus towards 'Lyttelton' and get off at the 'Heathcote Valley' stop. From there, walk towards the intersection of Bridle Path Road and Summit Road. Follow Summit Road for about 1.5 km until you reach 795 Summit Road, Cattlestop Crag. The crag is well-signposted and offers stunning views of the surrounding area.

From the Christchurch city center, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental services. Head south on Colombo Street until you reach the junction with Moorhouse Avenue.
