Walking
Start at the Kaikoura Visitor Centre located at 96 West End. From there, head south on West End towards Beach Road. Turn left onto Beach Road and continue walking until you reach the Esplanade. Follow the Esplanade along the coast, enjoying the views of the ocean. After about 1.5 km, you will reach the end of the Esplanade, where you will see a sign for the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway. Follow the walkway, which will lead you towards the Kaikoura Peninsula. Continue on this path, which will take approximately 30 minutes. As you walk, keep an eye out for the stunning coastal views and wildlife. The Wood Teepee is located near the end of the Peninsula Walkway. Once you reach the location marked HPC5+72, you will find the Wood Teepee nearby.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Kaikoura. Start your ride from the Kaikoura Visitor Centre at 96 West End. Head south on West End and turn left onto Beach Road. Continue cycling along Beach Road until you reach the Esplanade. Follow the Esplanade, enjoying the coastal scenery. After about 1.5 km, look for the sign for the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway. Take the path leading towards the Peninsula. The total cycling distance to the Wood Teepee is approximately 5 km. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way, and once you reach HPC5+72, you will find the Wood Teepee.

Start at the Kaikoura Visitor Centre at 96 West End and ask about available shuttles to the peninsula area. If a shuttle is available, it may drop you off near the beginning of the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway. Once dropped off, follow the walkway towards HPC5+72, where the Wood Teepee is located. Be sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance, as services can vary.
