Walking
Starting from the Kaikoura Visitor Centre located at 96 West End, head east on West End towards the ocean. After about 500 meters, you will reach the Esplanade. Turn left and follow the Esplanade along the coastline. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers, enjoying the views of the ocean and the mountains. Eventually, you will see signs indicating the entrance to the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway. Follow the signs to the walkway entrance.

Bicycle
If you're renting a bicycle, start from the Kaikoura Visitor Centre at 96 West End. Ride east along West End until you reach the Esplanade. Turn left onto the Esplanade and continue cycling for about 1.5 kilometers. Look out for the signs directing you to the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway entrance. The ride is relatively flat and offers scenic views of the coastline.

Public Transport
While there is no direct public transport to the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway, you can take a local bus from various stops in Kaikoura to the central area near the Visitor Centre. Once you disembark, follow the directions for walking. The visitor centre is located at 96 West End, and from there, head east towards the Esplanade, following the coastal path to the walkway entrance.
