Car
If you're driving from the Mount Cook Village, head south on State Highway 80. Continue for approximately 7 km until you reach the intersection with the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve. Look for the signs indicating the reserve. Turn left onto the access road, which will lead you directly into the reserve area. Please note that parking is available, and make sure to check the weather conditions as they can change rapidly.

If you are taking a bus service, board a bus heading towards Mount Cook Village. Once you arrive at the Mount Cook Village, you can take a local shuttle service that goes to the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve. The shuttle departs regularly from the village, but be sure to check the schedule in advance. The ride will take about 15 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views on your way!
